Nathan Marks is a Chicago native who has been painting full time since graduating from college, dedicating himself to a life guided by creativity, intuition, and an enduring passion for artistic expression. Working primarily in the tradition of Abstract Expressionism, Marks explores the expressive potential of color, movement, texture, and form. His approach to painting is rooted in a genuine love for the creative process, allowing each work to develop as an individual expression rather than conforming to a predetermined style or expectation.
Despite being a young artist, Marks possesses an old soul and a thoughtful, instinctive connection to his craft. He approaches his work with a sense of sincerity and dedication, valuing the experience of creating above the pursuit of recognition. In a world increasingly shaped by social media and constant self-promotion, Marks has chosen to maintain a remarkably understated public presence, preferring to devote his energy to the studio and the continual evolution of his work.
This quiet independence lends his artistic identity a certain mystery, inviting viewers to encounter his paintings without preconceived ideas about the artist behind them. For Marks, art is more than a career; it is a personal calling and a lifelong pursuit, guided by curiosity, authenticity, and an unwavering commitment to painting.
“My creative process feeds my soul, and it is my hope that you feel the joy I put into every painting I make.”
