Randy Honerlah

Randy Honerlah is a California painter whose vibrant, contemporary works celebrate the beauty of nature through bold color, expressive composition, and richly layered textures. Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Honerlah developed a passion for painting during childhood and continued to cultivate his artistic skills through formal studies, workshops, and independent exploration.

After more than 35 years working in the semiconductor industry, Honerlah retired to pursue his artistic practice full-time. Based in the Sierra foothills, he draws inspiration from landscapes, flowers, wildlife, and the changing colors and patterns of the natural world.

Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Honerlah creates paintings that blend abstraction, impressionism, and contemporary illustration. His distinctive style incorporates strong outlines, stylized shapes, and vivid color palettes, often combining multiple layers of paint to create depth, texture, and visual movement. Inspired by early twentieth-century Arts and Crafts design, woodblock prints, and screen printing, his recent series,Parklands—Contemporary Nostalgia, reimagines American landscapes through simplified forms and a playful sense of nostalgia.

Honerlah’s work has received numerous local, national, and international awards and has been featured in publications, including AcrylicWorks: The Best of Acrylic Painting. His paintings are held in private and corporate collections throughout California, Hawaii, and Europe.

A Signature Artist in the International Society of Acrylic Painters, Honerlah continues to explore the expressive possibilities of color, composition, and texture, creating works that offer fresh perspectives on familiar landscapes and the natural world.
